Sprint’s ERT is Gearing Up and Staging Equipment in Anticipation of TS Alex Expected to Make Landfall in S. TX this Week!

**Watch issued for TS Alex** Sprint’s ERT increases our state of readiness as the National Hurricane Center (NHC) issues an official watch for the coast of Texas south of Baffin Bay to the mouth of the Rio Grande (www.hurricanes.gov). ERT’s personnel, handsets and infrastructure are ready and available to deploy if necessary.

The COLTS Scored in Indianapolis this Week! The Football Team? No, Sprint Emergency Response Team’s SatCOLTs!

It was a successful trip to Indianapolis this week for Sprint’s ERT! On Wednesday Sprint ERT Go-KitsTM were used in Hamilton County’s Disaster Response Exercise (DRX) where multiple agencies and hospitals participated. Sprint’s ERT Go-KitsTM were used to facilitate communications during their simulated disaster. On Thursday it was another great Resilient Communications for Emergency Response Event with over 40 attendees representing government agencies and corporations from Hamilton County and Noblesville to Indianapolis. Special thanks to our Guest Speakers: Tad Stahl the Chief Information Officer for the State of Indiana and Chad Jenkins from Hamilton County. It’s a wrap! Over 80 attendees turned out today for Emergency Management Magazine and Sprint ERT’s Resilient Communications event in Columbus, Ohio! It was exciting to see Sprint ERT’s Rapid Deployment Solutions Team (RDS) conduct an exercise where we demonstrated with infrastructure, equipment and personnel how our specialized expertise can restore all forms of communication even in the most remote and overwhelmed conditions. Sprint ERT Haiti Update

DoD officials have given Sprint ERT an official NOGO for Haiti as they prepare to begin scaling back their support. Thank you to all of our well wishers, your thoughts and prayers for our team members and the victims of the earthquake are appreciated. We are prepared and ready for the next emergency. Sprint ERT Involved in Operation Radar – Interoperable Communications Summit & Exercise

Operation Radar – Interoperable Communications Summit & Exercise is a huge exercise in Florida sponsored by the Florida Division of Emergency Management.  Exercise involves all seven of Florida’s emergency management regions and over 60 agencies.  The exercise will be held at Camp Blanding 1/25 – 1/29.

Sprint ERT will be supporting the exercise with personnel, equipment and infrastructure.  ERT is providing 150 ruggedized Nextel iDEN handsets for use by the  participants and command staff.  ERT has also been written into the exercise and is playing a role to showcase capabilities.   ERT will be providing one active SatCOLT to enhance base coverage and capacity for the exercise participants, as well as for scenario and inject play.   ERT will also be displaying two assets currently leased to the National Guard Bureau (one SatCOLT and one SatIP Trailer).
